Getting Published By A Christian Publishing Company

By Stephen Lewis

The incidence of inspirational is much more popular now that is used to be. A Christian Publishing Company helps those searching for uplifting material to be able to find it easily. Both the writer and reader can gain from having such work published in one company so they can easily find it.

Both fiction and nonfiction are published by publishers of inspirational works. Nonfiction writers search for publishers who are recognized as working with inspirational works. Both writers and readers wish to be identified with such publishers so others can find their works. These works are primarily for study and academic pursuit, though they are also for reading enjoyment.

Both fiction and nonfiction can have a focus on either strictly inspirational or Christian. The Language and content must be acceptable, not being an embarrassment or less than desirable. Language must be suitable for age 13 or so, and not have any curse words or explicitly sexual content. This doesn't indicate childish language but just appropriate for that age.

All fiction should be inspirational and/or religious based. The theme or story line should teach a Christian principle. There should be a lesson for the reader, without being "preachy." To find a theme, the writer needs to think about something that is of interest to those currently. The characters should both, hero/heroine and protagonist, should both have a part in teaching and learning the lesson.

Fiction doesn't have to be romantic, but if there is a romance element it can be comedy, history, or suspense as well. Even in the Christian element there can be a story line with LGBT, but not always. It is advisable to omit the reference if you are not sure what position the company takes. Whatever other element you choose to include, there must be mainly an underlying idea of romance. Guys also enjoy romantic suspense or comedy as well.

Nonfiction books are not just for enjoyment like fiction. They have different purposes. One is, of course, for enjoyment. But, there is also an element of teaching different principles. Clergy and others do academic study and research using nonfiction materials. In-depth teaching is required when there is an aspect that is not easily understood by others.

Teaching a personal concept and inspiring a new action is another idea for nonfiction material. The author teaches a practical concept and inspires personal action. The author attempts to aid the reader in making a change as addressed. Though not an academic change is not being address, a change in personal behavior is the purpose of this type of writing or a habit changed or overcome.

Memoirs and historical works are another purpose for nonfiction. Though they are mainly to impart information, there is often great enjoyment. Memoirs are somewhat historical as they let a person discover something about the author. Historical works, though designed to impart information, are often entertaining as well, especially for those who enjoy history. All writing is somewhat for entertainment, regardless of type.
