Seriously?
There's a big lie that everyone believes in that causes so much pain and discomfort. Problem is, most people don't even know they are taking part in it.
Don't worry it's not your fault.
This lie is incredibly powerful and no one has been left out of its grasp.
So I'm here to help you make this one change, and if you can seriously take this one tip to heart your entire world will change.
I know that it can change lives because it changed mine.
Here's the BIG lie: there's an island where it all turns out.
Let me further explain this.
If you can take a second to think of your "future" and all of the great things that live in that place...you are entering into the place of "the land where it all turns out." When you think of this place, often you will start to feel warm fuzzy feelings of happiness. You've arrived.
Unfortunately, this place doesn't exist.
It's a mirage.
What makes this mirage so impossibly sexy is that you believe that your happiness lives there. That alone will keep you rowing your boat as much as you possibly can.
Worse yet, it's not just about the rowing that is bad, it's what this type of attitude brings out in you. When you are living from this frame of mind, you end up seeing life as very linear, black and white, timeline-esque, future driven, progress driven...and when things don't go "according to plan" or don't show up as "how they should be" everything gets incredible messy.
When you are constantly rowing towards the future, you forget to connect with the present moment and fear, worry, and doubt start to crawl into your life.
THIS IS EXHAUSTING.
However, most people never get the chance to really consider that this is the way that they are living their life and exit this habit. They just continue on rowing and never quite make it to where they wanted to go.
Ever heard of mid-life crisis? Bingo.
So what do you need to do to take yourself out of the "rowing mentality?"
Be an amoeba. A what?! Yes, an amoeba...you know those ever-shifting microscopic creatures that you probably studied in some science class along the way? Ok I guess I'll have to explain further.
Start viewing your life as a very fluid and shifting thing. When you can see life this way, you step out of everything being very black and white and see the world for what it truly is...colorful.
But it gets even better.
When you live this way, the best is brought out in you. You are able to focus on what's really developing in you and how you can grow and change. You connect more with the present. You show up as who you really are. You connect more with others.
When you exit the future and show up in the present moment, you are living in the only place where you can actually be. You can't exist anywhere else (we try sometimes). You show up right here and that's when the magic starts to happen.
When you slow down to connect with others and what's going on around you, you will start to see incredible changes in your life.
There's no telling what's possible for you.
Take a second to ask yourself, "What's actually here? What's really going on?"
End your rowing.
