If you are working in the fire department at a lower rank, then you can be considered as a suitable candidate for promotional roles. It is tough indeed to get into the fire department as a fire fighter because you have to undergo a lot of training and follow the guidelines accurately otherwise you may not qualify for to even give the fire department promotional exams.

Just as entering into fire department is not easy, so isn't getting promoted in this particular department. You really have to follow the whole process in order to get promoted and to be able to give the exams. Not many candidates are able to make it till the last stage as the whole process is extremely challenging.

The process begins with updating your resume because if your resume is not up to date you may think its not accurate for the role that you want to apply for. It is usually the case that when you are doing a job already, you don't find the need to update the resume as you hardly need it unless and until you want to apply for some other jobs. The more up to date your resume is, the more beneficial it gets for you.

After updating your resume, then you can apply for the job role that you really want to. This gives you the chance to give written exams for it. As the seats are limited, so only those individuals are provided the opportunity who have excellent aptitudes. The short listed candidates are then further evaluated as they are invited to come to the assessment centre.

Written exams are important and those candidates who successfully clear the written exams are then assessed even further. The other assessment phases may differ depending on the type of job you have applied for. It may be either oral interview or a demonstration. Such activities are conducted to evaluate your communication abilities.

After the assessment centre, the candidates are short listed even further depending on their performance. Those who performed well in all of the assessment tasks are then cleared and they have to give individual interviews as well as oral presentations to show their skills even further. The key to success in this regards is to remain natural and you should feel confident about yourself.

Further interviews are taken and individuals are again short listed on the basis of their performance while giving interview. They should be the right candidate and it can be observed while they act. It is a true fact that every individual is different from other and not everyone can do this job in an accurate way.

Oral presentations are conducted as well in order to enhance the communication abilities of a person. Only a confident person who possesses all the necessary skills and who is able to communicate in an effective way is the one who succeeds at the end of the day. Communication is very important indeed otherwise you cannot communicate in an effective way.
