The bible, a historical book, that this belief is based on, shows people that the meaning and need for love and acceptance that they were born with was put there for a reason. Many use their needs to drive how they act in the world, directing it as a way in which to receive acceptance and therefore get a temporary satisfaction. Rather than to seek this from others, humans are called to find God and accept Christ as to fulfill the need permanently. To become Christ like is what is called from the human race.
Church is a way in which to fellowship with others who share is this belief. Although many use it as a form of labeling themselves, it's about so much more. It should not be who one builds themselves on but rather assisting on how to build a relationship with God.
